Diversity in First Century Judaism

The Gospels repeatedly refer to various factions within Judaism. The following groups are particularly significant: Sadducees, Pharisees, Zealots, and Essenes.
Describe the characteristics of each of the groups.
Cite and quote a Gospel passage where Jesus interacts with each of these groups.
(Use BibleGateway which is a wonderful site for researching scripture.)
One of theses groups is not mentioned.   Which one?  Can you suggest why not?

The site below, From Jesus to Christ, is particularly rich in information. It deserves close attention. Take your time when browsing this page.

From its home page, select the "A Portrait of Jesus' World." Then, select "Judaism's First Century Diversity."
